Cambridge Technicals are vocational qualifications for students aged 16+, and are designed with the workplace in mind and to provide a high-quality alternative to A Levels. Vocational education is not just about results; t’s about educating people in the knowledge and skills required for employment and for the community as a whole. It’s also about developing the behaviours and attributes needed to progress and succeed in education and in work.
Launched in September 2016, the Level 3 Cambridge Technicals in ICT allow students to achieve their potential and progress to the next stage of their lives, whether it be Higher Education, an apprenticeship, or employment.
At Crickhowell High School we offer the Level 3 Cambridge Technical Certificate in IT (an AS equivalent) and the Level 3 Cambridge Technical Diploma in IT (an A Level equivalent). Both qualifications include a range of mandatory and optional units. The Diploma includes specialist pathway units for an IT Infrastructure Technician, an Emerging Digital Technology Practitioner, an Application Developer or a Data Analyst.
The table below details the mandatory units only.
For information on the optional units, please refer to the course brochure which can be downloaded below.
