Sixth Form Induction – Friday June 23rd 2017

Dear Students & Parents,

I am writing to invite you to the Sixth Form Induction Day for students, which will be held on Friday June 23rd  from 9.00am – 1.30pm.

The aim of the day is to help students choose their A Level subjects and they will receive guidance from pastoral staff as well as subject teachers and current students.  Subject staff will discuss the demands and content of their course as well as providing advice on suitability and compatibility of subjects.  Year 13 will also be hosting the day and organising activities.  There is no dress code requirement for the day and we will be finished before lunch.  We will provide refreshments during the morning.

This programme is arranged for prospective students but I happy to arrange an appointment if parents would like to discuss choices in more detail.  Please call 01873 813531 or email if you would like to arrange this.  Finally, we understand that, for some students, choices will depend on their GCSE results.  I will therefore be available after the GCSE results in August as well.  If prospective students are unable to attend the Induction Day, please could they inform the Office or myself and confirm that they still wish to apply for a place in the Sixth Form at Crickhowell.

If you intend to return to Crickhowell High School and travel on school transport, you will need to reapply for your permit with Powys County Council and we will issue forms on Friday.  If you live in a different local authority, there are private transport arrangements in place and we will give out further information.

Please email if you are unable to make it but would still like your place in the Sixth Form.

Please return any school textbooks on this day if you have not already done so.  Good luck in your forthcoming exams and we look forward to seeing you on June 23rd.

Yours faithfully,

Mrs Kate Thomas
