It is with deep sadness that I must inform you of the death this morning of Tracy Robbins , who was our outstanding Head of History for many years and who left us on ill health retirement last summer.
Tracy had fought a brave battle against cancer and remained a fighter to the very end. She died peacefully and with dignity surrounded by her loved ones and she leaves a wonderful legacy to all who were privileged to know her.
Many parents and students, past and present, will remember Tracy fondly as one of our finest and most respected teachers. Tracy was an inspirational teacher, very caring form tutor and a staff governor who forged a love of History and a deeper understanding of world affairs and human rights with all her students: she will be greatly missed.
On Monday we will hold a special assembly for all in our school community to inform students and honour her memory.
After Christmas we will make arrangements for a special collection for the charity of her loved ones’ choice and a Book of Remembrance in which you may wish to place your thoughts and memories of her.
I will write to you again at that time to give you further details .
Our thoughts are with Tracy’s partner and family at this very sad time.
