Press Release: GCSE Results

Crickhowell High School is absolutely delighted with exam results that reflect over 97% of students achieving at least 5 A* to C passes at GCSE. This reflects a further 7% improvement on last year’s outstanding results. Over 73% of students achieved their Level 2 Threshold of 5 A* to C grades including English and Maths and 100% of students achieved the Level 1 Threshold.

24% of all grades awarded were at A*/A and 45% of A*/B with a significant number of students achieving A*/A grades in all their subjects. The high attainment of our students and their outstanding progress reflects the dedication of students, governors, parents and staff. There are sixteen students who have achieved the L2 Inclusive Threshold with A*/A grades in all their subjects.

Jackie Parker, Headteacher said “It is a privilege to work with so many amazing students and I am so proud of all our students and their superb results this summer. They have worked so well and deserve every success. I am particularly pleased that so many of our students with additional learning needs have achieved 5 or more GCSE passes at A* to C which reflects incredible dedication.

I send my warmest congratulations to all our Year 11 students and look forward to welcoming many of them back into the Sixth Form”.
