New School Uniform 2011-2012

Dear Parents and Carers,

The uniform code of the school is particularly important and is recognised nationally as an indicator of both standards and achievement within schools.  As you know

during this academic year 2010-2011 the school has consulted widely with pupils, parents, staff, governors and the local community before making decisions about changes to our existing school uniform.

The school looked at the cost of the uniform and the quality of the merchandise when deciding on the uniform and its supplier. Consideration was also given to equality and anti-discrimination issues. As a result of our consultation the Governing Body has decided to make some amendments to our uniform policy and to change the supplier of our school uniform.

The new uniform code will apply to all students who will be in Year 7 in September 2011 and to those students in Year 10 as they would expect to be in blazers from September under our existing uniform code.  All other students in Years 8, 9, and 11 can continue to wear their existing uniform for the academic year 2011-2012, until they need to replace their uniform when we would ask you to purchase the new uniform.  Students can choose to purchase the new uniform at any time and many students have expressed a desire to move to wear the new fitted jackets (blazers), shirt and tie.

From September 2011 all students will wear the tailored jacket (blazer), school shirt, tie and specific school jumper.  The uniform for Lower School and Upper school will be differentiated by the design of the school tie.

From September 2011 Price and Buckland will be the sole supplier of Crickhowell High School Uniform. Price and Buckland Limited, Benneworth Close, Hucknall, Nottingham NG15 6EL Tel: 0115 9640827 email: sales@price-buckland.co.uk www.price-buckland.co.uk
