In the spirit of good will and giving in the build up to Christmas and the festive period, we have created a whole school Reverse Advent Calendar focus.
This fantastic idea has stemmed from collaboration with students, Form Tutors and families. The idea is that instead of receiving a treat each day of advent, we give something to the less fortunate.
Our aim as a school is to collect items for the local Food Bank and Greenhill Care Home. Each Form Group and group of staff have been assigned a day during December to bring in an item for either cause. You can find out when this is on the attached calendar and this has begun today.
Form Tutors have been briefing their tutees since last week. The project was trialled with Year 11 last year and proved to be very successful. On the last day of term, we plan to compile all the products/items in to one special assembly for students and staff to see their combined impact.
We recognise that some of our families are in positions of financial hardship themselves and so we are also placing some emphasis in this area too. Wider staff are supporting further through cake sales and lunch time clubs and we are exceptionally proud and grateful. Many thanks to all involved.
If you have any questions then please contact Miss Bethel (Learning Leader of Art), your son’s/daughter’s Progress Leader or I at any point.
We thank you in advance for your support and any possible contributions to this worthwhile project and cause.
