Crickhowell High School Girls Dance Themselves Proud at Theatr Brycheiniog

On 7th April this year, a group of girls from Years 7 to 10 took part in the South Powys Dance Festival at Theatr Brycheiniog, an evening performance of dance styles including ballet, contemporary, ballroom and street, featuring all eight South Powys high schools.

The group have been working on their performance since October 2016 with their dance based on Roald Dahl classics, such as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Matilda, in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the birth of the author.

The girls worked really hard, creating their own costumes, working with a range of different music genres and dance styles, developing their own voiceovers, managing some of the choreography and sourcing their own quotes to emblazon on their shirts.

“The girls were outstanding and have made themselves, myself and the school very, very proud.  They used tap, contemporary, balletic and modern choreography and displayed pure talent every step of the way” said Gabby Panfilli

Well done girls.  We’re all proud of you!
