Artistic communication takes many forms and within the Art, Design and Technology faculty at Crickhowell High School we are proud to support our students as they develop their own, individual artistic practice.
On Monday 24th June, we would like to invite you the opening of the 2019 GCSE & A Level Exhibition of Art, Photography and Product Design, to be held in the school ADT department from 5 – 7 p.m. We are excited to showcase the creativity, originality and talent of our students, whose work demonstrates their individual responses to current themes and topics that highlight how humanity reflects itself through the arts.
You may be aware that arts funding is being cut from public and educational programmes, even though arts and culture is one of the biggest growing sectors within the UK. We hope that as it develops, the New Curriculum for Wales will continue to challenge and overcome threats to the arts, providing the possibilities to enable and encourage creativity in our younger generation.
We want our students to graduate from Crickhowell High School with the creative experiences that have not only enriched their lives, but have equipped them with skills they can apply to any sector. As a faculty, we are committed to supporting our young people in becoming ambitious, capable learners, and enterprising, creative contributors to the community of Crickhowell, Wales, and the wider world.
We cordially invite you to join us on Monday 24th June, to visit our exhibition at the school, which truly demonstrates the importance of the arts and creativity in our young people’s development.
Crickhowell High School 2019 GCSE & A Level Exhibition of Art, Photography and Product Design opens on Monday 24th June, 5pm-7pm. Entry via the school main reception. Refreshments will be provided by our GCSE Food & Nutrition students.
