Friday 14th September 2018 Non-Uniform Day

Friday 14th September 2018 is a non-uniform day with a ‘denim’ theme.  Throughout each year, we select a number of causes which we feel will benefit from our whole-school support and recognition.  Our focus is always on moulding our students into excellent global citizens who appreciate the needs of others and consider what they can do to help, both local and in a wider setting.

The money raised from this particular non-uniform day will go towards two charities:

  • Bobath is a Cardiff based charity which specialises in helping individuals with Cerebral Palsy
  • Young Minds is a leading mental health charity

You can find out more about these charities by visiting their websites at https://www.bobathwales.org/ and https://www.youngminds.org.uk.

Our aim tomorrow is to see as many students in blue denim as possible.  This is in memory of a former student who sadly lost his life at the end of the last academic year.  His friends in the Sixth Form are leading the fundraising for these charities, which are close to their hearts.

We ask that each student who attends school in non-uniform tomorrow contributes a cash amount of £2, to be placed in an envelope and labelled with their name and form group.

For future reference, we’re looking at using our Cashless Catering System for non-uniform days,  We ask that on this occasion every effort is made to contribute the cash amount.

As always, we ask parents / guardians to ensure that non-uniform clothing is appropriate for school and reflects a respectful dress code.

For those students who have PE lessons scheduled, please bring your PE kit in as usual.

Fabulous!  We raised a total of £1,366.41!  Thank you to everyone who donated.
