Outstanding A Level Results for CHS Class of 2018

We are absolutely delighted to announce that Crickhowell High School is once again celebrating outstanding A Level results with more A* grades than ever before at 23% and a 100% A*-E pass rate.  Over 41% of grades awarded were A* / A, 62% A* / B, 83% A* / C, 95% A* / D and 100% A*-E.  Nearly 200 students sat examinations at AS and A2 this summer in more than thirty different subjects.

99% of our students who applied to university gained a place in either their first choice or insurance option and some students have been successful in obtaining places on very prestigious apprenticeships / employment training schemes.  Courses and destinations include Medicine at Cardiff, Dentistry at Bristol, Mathematics at Warwick, Law at Exeter, Robotics at Plymouth, Cymraeg at Cardiff,  English Literature and Creative Writing at Aberystwyth,  International Business with Communications at Birmingham, French and Spanish at Swansea and Environmental and Physical Geography at Victoria University in Wellington, New Zealand.

The school warmly congratulates Year 12 and 13 students for their extraordinary success.  The 100% pass rate also reflects the dedication, expertise and commitment of our staff and the amazing support of Governors, parents and families.  We would like to extend our thanks and congratulations to all in our school community who have made these successes possible.

Our school motto is ‘Excellence through Endeavour’ and there can be no doubt that our students have fully secured this goal with these excellent results.  It is a great privilege to work with our wonderful students and to empower them to achieve such remarkable success.  We are very proud of all of their achievements and the very impressive young men and women they have become.  I have every confidence that they will go on to excel in their future careers and make the world a much better and brighter place!
