Fairtrade Fortnight 2018 runs from Monday 26th February to Sunday 11th March 2018. These two weeks are set aside each year to promote the principles and products of fair trade and to highlight the links between consumers and producers. During this time, people across Wales and the UK raise awareness about Fairtrade and show support for the farmers and workers who produce the things we love; from bananas to footballs, cotton to tea. With Fairtrade we have the power to change the world every day.
Each year has a different theme and this year it’s ‘Come On In’. We’re inviting people to join in the Fairtrade movement, and learn more about how Fairtrade impacts the lives of producer communities across the world. Through Fairtrade, millions of poor farmers and workers are already coming together to demand a change. They are working hard to close the door on exploitation and transform their communities, supported by Fairtrade.
And Crickhowell High School is doing it’s bit. The Eco Committee will be running a Fairtrade stall at break and lunchtimes on Monday and Tuesday and Fairtrade raffle tickets will also be on sale.
We would welcome your support!
