Welcome to the Crickhowell High School website. I hope that it provides you with a comprehensive introduction to our values, expectations and ways of working.
Estyn in our last inspection described us as a good school and said ‘the most striking feature of the school is its strong ethos of learning, where good behaviour is the norm and motivation is high. In this atmosphere, pupils’ and students’- academic, spiritual, moral, social and cultural-through curricular and extra curricular experiences is exceptionally good’. We place strong emphasis on mutual respect and very good relationships, excellent behaviour and courtesy. We enjoy working with young people and preparing them to take their place as global citizens of the twenty-first century.
We have a wonderful staff team here with a strong commitment to high quality learning and teaching, support for students, governors and parents. We are known for our community focus, our active approach to healthy lifestyles and global citizenship, and a belief that a good school is about developing the whole person, not just their excellent academic performance.
We aim never to be complacent and welcome your feedback. We aim to respond rapidly and openly. You will also note that this website is important to us: it is regularly updated.
We are a Platinum Award Eco School with strong international links, an officially accredited ‘healthy’ school, and a school where every individual is nurtured to allow academic and personal potential to be fulfilled. We also try to enjoy every day and not to take ourselves too seriously.
Thank you very much for your interest in our work and I hope very much that you enjoy browsing through our website.
